Usually it's easy to escape from winter. Back home you realize there is non, still, people get sick and we wear scarfs and jackets... In the end it's all about people wanting to look like it's really winter. Then it's good to live in a city where it never snows. Don't get me wrong, I like snow just as much as the next guy, but quoting Calvin, from Calvin & Hobbes: Getting an inch of snow is like winning 10 cents in the lottery. Yes, it's nice for the first reaction, you go outside you throw a few balls, you make a snowman. Then two days later it's all brown and gray and your new boots are fucked up with all the salt and the puddles of filth.

This year I was unable to escape winter. It came late, bearing surprises. Like a drunken father in the night with a belt on his hand... haha, and it was fun to fight throwing snowballs and looking at friends slip and knocking down the snow from atop the branches over our heads and realize that for one day the city was a big park and we were all kids again.

Now it has passed, but this year more than others i can say I didn't hate it as much. Partly cause of my ladyfriend being so cute with her red rudolph nose. Partly cause of friends who made it entertaining, partly cause I got to take some nice photos and as you have seen shooting pics is my new found hobby of this year.

So for now, let's wait for the ice to melt so the birds can return to scare Irene and Hamid.
