Ciao! My name is Rosaly Escueta and I come from the beautiful tropicals of the Philippines.
What do you do in life?
Writing is really my biggest passion in life. So, I am trying to make it my full time job. I took Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications major in Broadcasting and in 2001 I graduated at West Visayas State University, also in my country. I write for a television, radio and newspaper in the Philippines and also in Hong Kong. I also worked as an Account Executive for Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Electronic Data Processing on their Credit Cards Department before migrating here in Milan. Milan is 360° different from where I came from and I see fashion and creativity very evident on this side of the world. So, I enrolled at Istituto Europeo di Design and took a Shoe Collection Course two years ago to better equipped me on fashion. But having seen a meager chance to work on that field here in Italy, I created my blog name Milano Mode by Bambi Eyes. Since then, I am using my blog name Bambi Eyes taken from one of the lyrics of a song from the album of Micheal Learns to Rock. Bambi is also my nickname - so that explains. Milano Mode is a personal style blog wherein I also write about reviews on bags and shoes. I share my travels, DIY, vintage finds and my life in Milan, in general. But someday, I wouldn't mind working for bigger magazines like Vogue or publishing my own book.
What is your favorite dish?
I found a guilty pleasure on eating Paella! Yes, cuff me 'coz I am guilty. But kidding aside, we do have a similar dish called Valenciana which also originated at Albufera, a lagoon in Valencia, on the east coast of Spain. I love Spanish dishes. It might be rooted from our history being colonised by Spaniards for 303 years and that's long, long time ago.
Starbucks or Italian Espresso?
Definitely - Espresso! I am a sucker for smooth, strong and versatile Espresso. I like a well roasted coffee brewed on a machine. I normally have it with wheat croissant and later with a glass of pulp orange juice. What I like best about it is - it's soothing aroma. In the morning, it makes me crazy awake and it sets a really good mood for my day. And let's not talk how it taste - because it never disappoints!
Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck or one hundred duck-sized horses?
That's a pretty abstract question. My logic professor in university could have asked me this. So let me logically deal with it. With a horse sized duck (quantity vs. quality) and 100 duck sized horses (quality vs. quantity). Well, I will choose a horse sized duck because I can devise a strategy to win over it, regardless how big it is. I only have to fight against one and I am done. Unlike with 100 duck sized horses, although they are smaller in sizes but they are bigger in numbers. They will only bore me. I like a bit of a challenge on bigger things and solve it quickly.
